This is a test post to see if I can get rsync to sync my updates to the server.
Of course, another way to do it is to use git to push up to a repo and then pull it down to the server.
I created this server to store a bunch of my collected notes about Linux and open source technology in general. It's not meant to be pretty, it's meant to be functional. And it's meant to be education - at least for me.
One of the first cool things that I did was to create a local dir on my Linux machine called
web.phantomhive.com, add an index.html page there, and then use rsync to sync that directory with
/var/www/html on my remote server. I was able to do this and see the updated index page on my local browser by running the following command:
rsync -avz /home/palumbo/Documents/web.phantomhive.com/ firstname.lastname@example.org:/var/www/html/
